Hey #082: You can’t avoid heartbreaks in life. Why not tap into their POWER?
Unlocking the power of heartbreaks (+ an ANNOUNCEMENT) 👇
Heartbreaks.
What comes to your mind when reading this word?
Romantic relationships? Breakups?
That’s not what heartbreaks are all about.
There exist many other kinds of heartbreaks in life.
Heartbreaks in career, family, friendships, ambitions…and what not.
The best part about any kind of heartbreak is that it resets your thinking with oblivion.
Because of the pain, you forget what you knew before the heartbreak. You lose belief in things you used to believe in before the heartbreak.
You become a blank canvas.
All your mind–body–soul settings get reset.
Things which used to stop you from achieving your potential lose their significance. Things which used to push you to achieve your potential lose their significance.
You become indifferent to encouragement and discouragement.
You feel the denseness of grief, anger, disappointment, resentment…all of it.
Ultimately, you’re left with indifference.
“Nothing makes sense.” — you think to yourself.
You don’t become numb. Because you can feel the indifference.
Time passes. The indifference persists.
And it makes you wonder:
“If nothing makes sense, then why not do whatever the f I want?”
When you reject this thought, indifference drags you back.
When you accept this thought, indifference propels you forward.
Can’t we escape this indifference altogether?
We can’t.
Because every heartbreak leads to indifference sooner or later.
What we do with indifference lays the path of tapping into the power of heartbreaks.
When you choose indifference, it becomes your reason to get out of bed.
It makes you detach from win–loss, success–failure, happiness–sadness, productivity–procrastination…
You start taking actions.
You act because you find yourself not liable to anything or anyone…not even to yourself.
You act because you want to act. Period.
Your thoughts and feelings stop giving you justification and motivation to do or not do something.
They become a white noise, unable to hold you back.
You don’t feel on top of the world. You don’t feel at the bottom of it.
You don’t feel the end or the beginning.
You don’t associate with ifs and buts.
You don’t rely on the past or the future.
You just act. Here and now.
No expectations. No anticipation.
Only the act.
Not even the wish to act. Just the act itself.
That is the power of heartbreaks.
They break you. And you let them break you.
In pieces. From time to time. In layers.
Without realizing, you also break all your identifications.
What once holds you back now becomes meaningless.
You don’t identify with your old beliefs. You don’t relate with old perceptions.
You feel like a different person.
You are you. Yet not you.
You become free.
That freedom is the mark of tapping into the power of heartbreaks.
The deeper a heartbreak is, the greater this freedom feels.
You can do a lot with this tapped power.
I channeled this power to write my first ebook.
(Yep…that’s the announcement 😁)
I’m making it live next Thursday.
The heartbreak(s) I was going through (and still recovering from) was caused by life’s uncertainty.
The moment I became indifferent, I started tapping into the power of this heartbreak.
I could observe all my feelings of anger, disappointment and resentment towards life. Instead of suppressing them, I was able to process them.
The more I processed them, the more indifferent I felt.
The more indifferent I felt, the more detached I became.
This detachment made me finish my first ebook.
What’s this ebook about?
It’s about assertive communication — How to say NO?
Mark your calendar — 11th Jan, 2024 is the launch date.
This ebook will take you on the journey of managing your feelings and thoughts which stop you from saying no.
It’ll also give you templates which you can use in-person and virtual conversations to assertively communicate your no.
Oh and…it’ll make you feel understood for your reasons of not being able to say no. You’ll learn to use curiosity and self-compassion (instead of judgment and self-criticism) to befriend no.
Stay tuned!
The power of heartbreaks can do wonders, I tell you.
Give it a chance.

Until next Thursday,
